Former coach learns sentence for rape

rapppeEDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) – A former Eden High School wrestling coach learned his sentence in court Thursday. Justin Farrara has been free on his own recognizance, but learned he will be spending three years in prison and eight years on post-release supervision.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to rape for having sex with two different girls, ages 15 and 16. Investigators say Farrara is predator who likes underage girls and is at risk to re offend.

Farrara didn’t have a criminal record. There were no red flags in his background.

The father and mother of two teenage girls spoke in court about how Justin Farrara stole their innocence. The father said he looks at pictures of his 14-year-old daughter and wishes he could have protected the little girl in braces from the predator who pursued her. Adding, the relationship didn’t stop until Farrara was caught two years after it began. “He’s a creep, he’s a statutory rapist,” said Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita.

The father was especially disgusted that Farrara blamed his daughter for the trouble he’s in. In court we learned on the day Farrara was originally supposed to plead guilty, but he didn’t show up for court. That day he was snapchatting his victim saying, “how could you do this to me, you ruined my life.”

Farrara’s mother apparently shared the same feelings in a letter she wrote to the court. “I think it’s troubling when she writes ‘I’m truly sorry for the girls’ parents, but they also have to understand they are ruining a wonderful young man’s life.’ The only person who ruined this young man’s life, was this young man,” said Sedita.

News 4 also heard for the mother of his other victim who is now in college. She called him predator, pedophile, pervert, and criminal. She revealed she found out about Farrara because her daughter said she was camping in Canada with friends, but the girl was really in Saratoga with Farrara. She drove five hours to pick up her daughter calling Farrara a coward for not being there to own up to his actions when she arrived. In closing the mother told Farrara “You’re here because of your actions and your choices. You are not the victim.”

Farrara kept it brief saying there were no words to describe what he’d done, and he hopes the victims can move forward.

One of Farrara’s victims sat in court with tears ran down her face as her father told the court how she showed bravery and saved other girls from becoming his victims.

Investigators and school officials described this as a wake up call for parents to keep track of who their teens see and socialize with. However, today’s technology makes that difficult.

New York State Police Investigator Chris Wysocki said, “Would see the girls walking through the halls. Would ask some of the students on the wrestling team who they were and would apparently make it a point to talk to them and get to know them, and eventually exchanged phone numbers and it just went on from there.”

Eden Superintendent Sandy Anzalone said, “He abused authority that we give teachers and coaches or anyone who works with students.”

Police were able to catch him thanks to a Twitter page where teens confess to different things, in this case prosecutors say they talked about their relationships with Farrera.

A months-long investigation into human trafficking has led to the rescue of 18 women who were forced to work in the sex trade against their will, police said Tuesday.

Nine people are facing 33 charges, including forcible confinement, making and distributing child pornography, assault, trafficking in persons, withholding or destroying documents, living off the avails, uttering threats, obstructing police and failing to comply with court orders and conditions of bail and probation.

Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Peter Leone said vulnerable groups, like newcomers to Canada, are often the targets of exploitation.

“These (18 victims) are individuals who were preyed upon, that were very vulnerable and certainly exploited,” he said. “A lot of promises can be made to people if they come along, and they don’t realize until they go with them, what they’ve gotten themselves unfortunately into.”

Twenty-six police forces were involved in the operation on Oct. 1 and 2, including those in Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Halifax, Quebec City, Toronto and other parts of Ontario.

They interviewed hundreds of women some as young as 15 since January, focusing on hotels, motels and massage parlours along major thoroughfares in 30 cities and towns across the country, police said. Many of the women had been threatened with violence, extortion and drug dependency, among other forms of coercion by men.

SAN LEANDRO — A man who police say inappropriately touched two young girls inside city Target and Walmart stores this week was arrested Thursday morning, a police lieutenant said.

The 20-year-old San Leandro resident, who has yet to be identified, was arrested at his job at a Peninsula parking garage after an off-duty Berkeley police Community Service Officer spotted him at a Berkeley gas station.

The first incident occurred Monday evening at the Walmart at 15555 Hesperian Blvd., when the suspect followed two sisters, both under 10, from one department in the store to another and approached them and inappropriately touched the older sibling, according to police.

When the girl screamed, the man quickly left the store and the sisters then told their mother, who was in a nearby aisle. She told store security, who called police.

About 15 minutes later, at 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to the nearby Target at Bayfair Center to investigate another assault reportedly committed by the same person. Another girl, also under the age of 10 with her mother nearby, was approached by a man, who also inappropriately touched her. The girl told her mother, and she attempted to confront the man as he walked away, but he quickly left the store, McManus said.

The mother also reported the assault to store security personnel, who called police. Arriving officers then obtained store security video of the incidents from both stores, which eventually led them to the suspect.

Paedophile arrested over Madeleine McCann’s disappearance

The 76-year-old British pensioner and convicted paedophile arrested with possible links to the Madeleine McCann case molested two Australian girls aged just eight or nine years old, but remained free for two decades because he was repeatedly granted bail.

Roderick William Robinson, 76, was extradited from Portugal in 2010 to face the Sydney child molestation charges, just three years after Madelaine, aged three, was abducted from Portugal’s Algarve region.

Robinson, also known as Roderick McDonald, is being held in Malta pending extradition to the UK on sex offences.

Priest Pedophile Irony

Stephen Collins plays pedophile priest in latest film role

Talk about bad timing — a new short film stars Stephen Collins in a role that, given the recent news about him, has many cringing.

Collins, who is being investigated for child molestation, plays a pedophile priest in“Penance,” which was made last year and is now making the festival rounds.

Directed by Emmy winner Jeff Wolfe, the short stars David Lyons as a man hounded by personal demons and Collins as the priest he visits to “clear his conscience and discover exactly what it means to find forgiveness…or give it,” the film’s synopsis states.

In the wake of the claims against the “7th Heaven” actor following his alleged taped confession, Wolfe released a statement to People about the film and Collins’ role.

“Although my short film, ‘Penance,’ has recently played at a number of film festivals, it was actually made in 2013,” Wolfe said. “When I cast Stephen Collins, I had no idea there might be a connection between his real life and the part I asked him to play. I found the recent allegations particularly shocking, as my film is meant to speak to victims of abuse and the idea that the effects of abuse never really go away.”

At WonderCon earlier this year, Collins gave an interview in which he called “Penance” a “powerful piece about a priest and a former parishioner … it’s very intense.”

Collins has not been seen since the tape of his alleged confession surfaced online on Oct. 7.

Hollywood pedophile parties: Symptom of a rampant disease feeding on innocent children

DALLAS, May 15, 2014 — X-Men director Bryan Singer is accused of being involved in a series of pedophile parties where young boys were molested. Along with Singer, producer Gary Goddard, former Disney exec David Neuman and executive Garth Ancier are alleged to have been involved in the targeting and victimization of young boys.

The accusations against Singer emerged when Michael Egan, a former child actor and model, filed civil suits against Singer, Goddard, Neuman and Ancier. Egan told the New York Post that during the 1990’s, he and other young boys were treated “like pieces of meat at sex parties.” His attorney Jeff Herman has stated that since filing suit, he has been contacted by other victims who have broken their silence in the hopes of saving the next child from suffering as they have.

The New York Post also reports Egan’s mother previously reported the abuse to the LAPD and FBI and no action was taken. Singer and the others named by Egan have has vehemently denied the accusations against them.

The accusations brought chills of horror to me, reminding me of my own experiences.
